Getting Started
How do I access my cases and exams?
After signing in, go to My Content on your dashboard. All assigned cases and exams will appear there. Click Read Case to view materials or Start Exam to begin an AI oral interview.
How do I join a course?
Your instructor will provide an Add Code (e.g. X7Y2-9A). Enter it in the "Join a Course" box on the homepage or your dashboard. The course materials will appear in My Content immediately.
My Add Code isn't working.
Double-check the code from your syllabus — it's case-insensitive but must match exactly. If it still fails, contact your instructor to confirm the course is published and active.
AI Oral Exam
How does the AI oral exam work?
The AI interviewer asks you questions about the case. You respond by clicking the microphone button, speaking your answer, then clicking again to stop. The AI listens, responds with a follow-up question, and the conversation continues for the set duration. A transcript and audio recording are generated when the interview ends.
My microphone isn't working during the exam.
Make sure your browser has permission to use the microphone. You should see a prompt when starting the interview — click Allow. If it still doesn't work, try using Chrome or Edge, check that your mic isn't muted in your system settings, and use the mic test on the interview page before starting.
Can I retake the AI oral exam?
By default, you get one attempt per exam. If your instructor wants to allow a retake, they can reset your exam from the admin panel. Contact your instructor if you need to retake it.
The interview got stuck or disconnected.
If the page shows "AI is speaking..." for more than 30 seconds, it should auto-recover. If the page freezes completely, refresh the browser — you can resume the interview where you left off. If issues persist, contact your instructor to reset the exam.

I forgot my password.
Click Forgot Password? on the login page. Enter your email and we'll send you a reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Where do I find my transcript and audio recording?
After completing an AI oral exam, click View Results on your dashboard or the exam page. You can download your full transcript and audio recording from there.
For Instructors
How do I create a course?
Sign up for an instructor account, then go to your Instructor Dashboard. Click Create Course, give it a name and course code, then select cases from the library. Once you're ready, publish the course and share the generated Add Code with your students.
How do students join my course?
After you publish your course, you'll receive a unique Add Code (e.g. X7Y2-9A). Share this in your syllabus or on your LMS. Students enter it on the CougarCases homepage or their dashboard to access the course materials.
How do I view student exam results?
Go to your Instructor Dashboard and select the course. You can view each student's exam status, read their full interview transcript, and download audio recordings for grading.
Can I allow a student to retake an exam?
Yes. From the admin panel, find the student's attempt and reset it. This allows them to submit a new memo and complete a fresh interview.
